Mission: S1, E0: We need each other.
Location: Arboretum
Timeline: MD001 1640 hrs
1476 words - 3 OF Standard Post Measure

April walked into the arboretum. A little time had passed from the corridors, to the science lab and now to the arboretum. "Much better than the boring labs. What an impressive scientific feat." April said, with a big smile on her face.

Hunter looked around And smiled widely. “I really like this! Like you said it isn’t boring and it’s relaxing, like a place to get away.” He was thinking there could be future visits.

"Agreed, I could see myself sitting under a tree with a data pad and reading." April said, with a big grin on her face, as she walked into the arboretum.

“What would you be reading?” Hunter asked her with interest. He liked nothing better than a good thriller or mystery.

"Depends on my mood, I suppose." April said to him. It was a nice question to ask, but she was not ready to tell him, it was sappy romance novels.

“I’d be reading a book that holds me on the edge of my seat,” Hunter said with a smile. “A good detective book or one that you are never sure who will be alive by the end of the book.”

"That works too." April said, with a big grin on her face. "This arboretum is a good place to read books." She suggested to him. She was trying to be subtle about it.

“We could come and read together,” Hunter suggested. “I’d bring us each a favorite drink and it would be nice and relaxing.”

"I would like that, good idea." April said, liking the fact that he got the hint. She had a big grin on her face.

Hunter smiled widely. He seemed to be coming up with some really good ideas. “Be nice if they would let us hang a hammock up but that is doubtful.”

"I doubt it too. That would be nice." April said, with a big grin. She liked the idea of loungin in a hammack.

“It was a good plan in any case,” Hunter said with a smile. “We will just have to be creative.”

"Creative sounds like a fancy of word, to say get in trouble." April said, with a smile on her face. She liked his sense of humor, assuming she understood his motive correctly.

“It could mean that,” Hunter replied with a light in his eyes. “But never fear I would be the knight in shining armor and take the blame.” He smiled at her then.

"Like hell you will, if I am causing trouble. I will be right there by your side." April suggested to him. She was not going to make him a martyr or a would be hero in armor.

“Just what I wanted to hear,” Hunter said with a grin. “We go down and we go together as a team.” He smiled then. “I was thinking of a hammock near a window where we can see the stars.”

April gave a big barrel like laughter. He was charming and funny. This was a good thing, she thought. Then she went on to say, in response. "Will be a team, like Bonnie and Clyde?" She asked, with a cheesy grin on her face.

“That is just what I was thinking,” Hunter grinned. “Only we will have a much better end to the story!” He really loved how she picked up where he left off.

"Dunno, setting up hammacks, might get security to shoot us too." April suggested in a teasing voice. If they were shot, they would be stunned ofcourse.

“Hmmm,” Hunter grinned. “Only if we get caught. I’m sure I could come up with a reason for us to be there.”

"There are camera's all over the place. You are better off, just getting a bad, and popping a squat on the ground and leaning against the tree." April suggested to him. Now he was just talking silly.

“You are right,” Hunter said after a moment. “I do tend to get super excited and go off over thinking sometimes. That would be cool.”

"Cool maybe, I was thinking more practical approach." April said, sounding like a buzz kill. She did not mean too. However with that said, she did feel it would be fun to sit down under the tree and read with him.

“Sitting under a tree would be fun,” Hunter said with a smile. “It would feel more like we were somewhere else. I think it sounds like a good idea.”

"I have been known, to come up with a good idea once in a while." April said in a snarky voice. she had a big grin on her face.

Hunter smiled at her. “I bet you have more than a few good ideas.” He was looking forward to spending time reading and whatever else they came up with.

April just smiled at his comment. "We should continue to look around, this place is impressive." She pointed out to him.

“Let’s,” Hunter said with a nod and they moved on. “It feels like we are somewhere else other than the ship.”

"The science teams did a good job, making it feel more lively in here. Totally agree." April said, with a big grin on her face.

“I find it really calming,” Hunter said with a smile. “It’s like a home away from home if that makes any sense to you.”

"I understand, I dont know if I would go that far. It is a nice touch though." April said, with a warm and compassionate smile.

Hunter smiled. “I am just glad you suggested this. It was a good idea.” He could wander through for quite a while with her.

"I heard its one of the highlights of the ships, and it is." April said, with a big grin on her face. "The labs were cool, but this place is amazing." She pointed out to him.

“I am not sure we will be able to top it,” Hunter replied. “It will end up a favorite place to go.”

"We have not seen all of the ship yet." April pointed out to him. There was more of the ship still to explore.

“I have jumped the gun,” Hunter said with a grin. “We will no doubt find more than one.” He liked how upfront she was.

"Maybe not, I am just trying to be hopeful." April said, with a grin as she walked over closer to him. She ventured off to be closer to the tree earlier.

“Hey you never know,” Hunter said with a smile. “There are bound to be a few surprises while we’re looking around. He smiled as she came over by him.

"I have not made it to the lounges or the recreation rooms. I heard they are nice." April said, with a warm smile on her face, as they started to walk down the path in the arboretum.

“We can check them out next if you like.” Hunter murmured. “I have been wanting to see the recreation rooms myself.”

"What are you hoping for in the recreation room?" April asked, as they continued on the path. Checking out the trees and scenery.

“Ping pong maybe,” Hunter said with a grin. “Some physical games we can play.”

"Ping pong? Now now guy has asked me to play that before? Typically its minature golf." April said, with a teasing smile on her face.

“Never played minature golf.” Hunter said with a laugh. “I would give it a swing or two. When I was at the academy we played ping pong.”

"How is that even possible?" April asked, a little surprised by his answer. She assumed everyone played the game.

“I don’t know,” Hunter shrugged .”I never had the opportunity I guess.” He smiled at her. “Something Maybe we can experience one day.”

"Maybe." April said, as they came up to a small pond. "Now that is pretty." April said, with a big grin on her face.

“It is,” Hunter said with a nod. “You think there are any fish in it? Or perhaps some frogs?” His eyes lit up as he waited to hear what she thought.

"Maybe some Koi fish, that would make the perfect assemble for the decor." April said, as she started to head towards the pond, to see if there was any fish.

“That would be sweet,” Hunter followed after her, peering into the water. “I thought I saw something moving, did you?”

"Nope, but lets find out." April said, as she picked up her pace. She wanted to head over to the pond to check it out.

Hunter hurried up beside her and as they got closer he smiled. This had turned into a fun evening and he was having a really good time.

The scene starts to fade away, with April and Hunter walking over to the pond.
