Lexington S2, E1: Conflict Arises
Location: USS Lexington Bridge
Timeline: MD001 0800 hrs

"is this for real?" Roy asked as they boarded the airlock to the USS Lexington, at the moment they were online. But the engineering him knew that this is a dream shift to be on. The Constitution class of the premier Starship, you wish he could be your chief engineer but his duties as first officer will not allow him to.
“Would you like me to pinch you to be certain.” Gabbi said with a grin. She looked around at the sleekness of the ship. “I expect you will want to take a look at engineering?”
"You know me too well." Roy said with a big grin. Ignore the comment about her wanting to pinch him. His comment was more meant as an exaggeration of excitement.
“Let’s drop our stuff off and we can head there before we head anywhere else.” Gabbi said with a grin. “And if you want to stay a bit I can go to the bridge and sort things out.”
"Don't tempt me woman." Roy said, knowing darn well you would be needed on the bridge more than if you needed in engineering.
Gabbi smiled widely. “There will be plenty of time for you to hang out in engineering, once we are settled in.”
"Didn't I ask you, not to tempt me!" Roy said with an annoyed tone that was hiding his sarcasm and humor teasing.
Gabbi laughed. “An engineer never forgets the love of those engines. I feel your pain.”
"You feel my pain?" Roy said it with a big smirk on his face, knowing that his message was subliminal.
Gabbi laughed at his words. “Settle down until later.” Her eyes danced. “We have work to do for now.”
"Biology doesn't work that way, thankfully we have the chain of command though to make sure we do." Roy said still in a teasing manner.
Gabbi smiled back as him as her eyes lit up.” Damn rules always getting In the way of biology.”
"Hey now, I thought I was a teaser of the relationship." Roy pointed out to her.
“You are normally.” Gabbi said with a smile. “I just decided to change things up on you.”
"Well I like this side of you." Roy said as he pulled her close, he was to get ready to give her a kiss.
Gabbi leaned in and they kissed. After a moment she pulled back. "I am holding you to that promise later."
"I have no doubt you will." Roy said with love in his eyes as a scene starts to fade away.
Gabbi was relieved they were still managing to serve together. She knew that one day they might not be so lucky.
Location: Mess hall
April walked over to the table where Hunter was sitting. "Have you met the new captain yet?" April asked. April was still waiting to meet her.
“No.” Hunter shook his head. “I know they are on board but I’ve seen and heard nothing.”
"me either, I was surprise that Captain Bond was relieved of his duties aboard the Lexington. I'm also surprised that our 5-year mission got canceled." April said wondering what was going on, she had no idea about the Gorn attack.
“We will meet them soon.” Hunter replied. “I know it.”
"What do you think there like?" April asked and she looked over to Hunter.
“They have to be very good at their jobs to have been transferred here.” Hunter said. “The fleet isn’t just going to put anyone here.”
"the fleet does whatever the fleet wants to do, but that doesn't answer my question." April suggested to Hunter.
“I think they are honest and fair.” Hunter said. “Strict when they need to be. Pretty much a lot like our former captain.”
"I love your blind trust in Starfleet and humanity, it's adorable." April 7th warm smile on her face.
“Blind trust?” Hunter said. “Mostly it is faith in the officers they chose. I did look into them.”
"So much for your argument of blind trust." April said with a smirk. How could he tell her to blindly trust the new captain and first officer if he didn't he did a background check on them.
“I never meant blind trust.” Hunter murmured. “Just trust until they choose to lose it. It is theirs to keep or lose depending on their actions.”
"Back pedal all you want, you also don't trust them." April told him.
“They do need to earn it.” Hunter admitted. “We’d be fools to just follow their orders without them proving theirselves.”
"That hurt didn't it?" April said in a teasing grin. She made him admit that he was just as skeptical as she was.
“It does but it’s the truth.” Hunter shook his head. “I am just as disillusioned as everyone else.”
"you are in good company my friend." April said teasingly.
Hunter smiled. “You really like that, don’t you?”
"Giving you a hard time, oh ya. And deep down you like it baby!" April said with a warm smile on her face.
“I like it as well.” Hunter admitted with a grin. “You keep me hopping and you make me think about things.”
"Good. Relationships should make you think." April suggested to him.
“That is a good point.” Hunter nodded. “We should always grow from relationships.”
"Do you think we should go find them come or have them find us?" April asked, curious to see what he would say.
“Let’s find them.” Hunter said without hesitation. “I think they would respect us more if we did.”
"Well after you." April said as a the scene starts to fade away.
Hunter walked beside her as they went to search out their new command officers.
Roy walked on to the bridge first, at the cheerful smile he yelled out. "Captain on Deck." He was joy to see everybody coming to the position of attention.
April immediately snapped to the position of attention, she was finally relieved he was going to be me and the captain for the first time.
Hunter was at attention as the first officer announced the captain. He spoke up right away.
“Welcome Captain Moretti to the bridge.” Hunter spoke up.
“At ease everyone.” Gabbi said with a smile. “I am happy to be here. We both are.” She smiled at Roy.
April went to the position of ease, the captain seem like one of them and down to earth type person. And she is very pretty. April wondered what she was like.
“This is Commander Baker.” Gabbi introduced Roy. “The first officer. We look forward to getting to know each of you.”
"Lieutenant Junior Grade April Collins, your helmsman." April said with a grin on her face.
“I’m glad to meet you.” Gabbi said with a smile. “As soon as we’re settled I would like to have you and a crew member of your choice to join Commander Baker and I for dinner.”
"I'll have to check with my boyfriend on that, but that could be arranged, captain." April said with a big grin on her face. She immediately looked over to Hunter.
Hunter smiled widely. “I would be happy to come along.” They hadn’t hidden their relationship before and wouldn’t now.
"Perfect, hey send me both know where the captain's mess is located?" Roy asked. He remembered reading the file that April and Hunter were both serving on the Lexington before.
"Yes and will be there." April said with a warm smile on her face. "Do you want us to bring any drinks?"
Gabbi almost said it wasn’t necessary but she decided to accept the olive branch. “Yes, please do.”
"I have just a bottle in mind, I'm looking forward to this captain." April said with a big grin on her face.
“So am I.” Hunter said. He looked from Gabbi to Roy. “For the opportunity to get to know both of you.”
"Lexington is an impressive ship." Roy said is he walked around the bridge. He looked over to Gabbi.
“That it is number one.” Gabbi replied as she walked over and sat down in the command chair. “This chair is very comfortable as well.”
"I heard it's the best seat in the house." Roy said with the big smile.
“That it is.” Gabbi said with a smile. “Would you like to give it a try.”
"Weren't you just trying to send me down to engineering and now you want to offer me your chair, Captain?"'Roy said with a big grin on his face.
“Just for a moment.” Gabbi grinned. She sat there and turned it side to side. “But you are right, I need to enjoy it a bit more.”
"it looks cozy captain, give her a try." Roy said with a loving smile on his face.
Gabbi sat in her chair with a grin on her face. “I could sit here for a long time!” She smiled at them all. “This is one nice chair.”
"You've earned it Captain." April said, hoping that she did. The guy she was replacing had earned it.
“Thank you.” Gabbi said quietly. “From what I hear I have some big shoes to fill.”
"Captain Bond was amazing, and my first captain." April said with a smile.
“I had a chance to speak with him before I came on board.” Gabbi said as she looked around. “He spoke highly of the crew he was leaving.”
"That's good to hear, some of the crew is new. It seems like this task force shuffled a lot of its crew around." April said to the captain.
“Yes.” Gabbi nodded.
“And I know everyone wasn’t happy with the choices. But they did accept it for the greater good.”
"Do we have orders yet captain?" April asked hoping she would say yes.
“I will have them today.” Gabbi informed them. “As soon as my meeting is over in a few minutes”.
"Thanks Captain." April said with a big grin on her face.
"I hope we're not keeping you from that meeting." Colby McBride III asked.
“I have a few minutes.” Gabbi informed him. “I wanted a chance to meet you all before I went in to make that call.”
"Thank you captain, I know I'm grateful by the way I'm Lieutenant Colby McBride III, your new Chief of Security and Tactical Officer. He said with the warm smile on his face.
“It is good to meet you.” Gabbi said with a smile. “I look forward to serving with you.”
Gerald decided now would be a good time to introduce himself. "Lieutenant Gerald Thompson your new communications chief." He said as he reached out to shake her hand.
Gabbi smiled at him as she shook his hand. “Good to meet you.”
“Lieutenant Cruise.” Autumn said with a smile. “Chief Operations Officer.” She looked over to Roy. “Commander.”
Gabbi smiled widely. “I was happy to hear you had been assigned to our ship.” They had served together back on the Alexandria.
"Just everyone else I'm Lieutenant Commander Roy Baker, new first officer as a captain mentioned earlier, I'm going to want to meet with all of you later on." Roy said to the group, knowing that the captain already did some earlier but he thought he should add his own two cents in there, plus let them know that he'd want to meet with them individually.
“I am Doctor Thompson.” Sarah said with a smile. “I’ll look forward to seeing you for your physicals, everyone.”
Gabbi smiled. “It is nice to meet you.” She looked around. “Anyone who is sue had better make an appointment.”
"I'll be the first to sign up, I'll lead by example." Roy said with a grin on his face, personally in the past we would have been one of the last people. But now being the first officer he knew he should be one of the first people.
“Thank you, Commander.” Sarah said with a smile.
“Sign me up too.” Autumn spoke up. She might as well get it over with.
"Sign me up." April, she didn't want to be the last to sign up and everybody look at her.
“I am impressed.” Sarah said with surprise. “She had never had this many offer to have a physical.
“I’m next.” Hunter said with a grin. “Put me on your list as well.”
"all right crew let's not overwhelm the Doctor." Roy suggested to the senior staff.
Everyone laughed and Gabbi spoke. “The doctor will make appointments for each of you, make sure you don’t miss them.
Roy just grinned, as he looked over to Gabbi. As I said that included you honey. "If you need any assistance or have any issues please let me know."
“Thank you all for your cooperation.” Sarah said with a smile. Once the physicals were over then everyone would feel better.
"Not that I'm trying to get rid of you captain, but we would like our mission soon as possible." Roy said with the teasing grin on his face.
“I am on my way into the ready room to have that meeting.” Sarah smiled. “I know you are all anxious to hear out.”
"Will be right here captain." Roy said as the scene starts to fade away.
Gabbi headed in her way to get the information and gain their permission to head out.
Location Lexington Ready Room
Katherine received a call from the USS Lexington, you know immediately what Gabbi wanted. "Captain Moretti what a wonderful surprise."
Gabbi smiled in return. “Sorry I’m late, Commodore. The crew had a few questions for me”.
"They always do captain, let me guess you on your first set of orders?" Katherine said with a big smile on her face.
“Yes.” Gabbi smiled. “I have a crew that is anxious to leave dock and head out.” She paused. “I confess I am as well.”
"I'm afraid it's not going to be an exploration mission." Katherine started to say the smile on your face quickly disappeared.
“We are ready to serve where we are most needed.” Gabbi said. She had sat up the moment Katherine began to speak. Something was up.
"The USS Enterprise was attacked by the Gorn Hegemony. I'm dispatching our task force to the Federation and Gorn border. We are the closest task force to the border." Katherine started to say, he was waiting to see how Gabbi would respond.
“We can be ready to leave immediately.” Gabbi replied quickly. “We will come to their aid and do what is necessary.”
"Starfleet is mobilizing as many shifts as possible, the fear another War might be inevitable but we're hoping for the best we're hoping a show of force will make the Gorn think twice." Katherine said to her. She hoped the show forced to be enough to dissuade the Gorn.
“Understood.” Gabbi nodded. “We will stand beside the others and show we are a force mightier than they believe.”
"I knew I could get on you captain." Katherine said with a smile as the scene starts to fade away.
Gabbi’s mine was already turning to getting the ship out of dock and heading on their way.
