Personal History Hunter was born on Earth in New York. His father was a fifth generation physician while his mother was a pediatrician. From the time he was old enough to understand, his parents wanted him to become a doctor as well.

Hunter had what he would say was a great childhood. He had many friends and whenever his parents went to a conference he would go along and see different places, though some of them were quite boring.

Hunter was fourteen years old his parents divorced and his father took a position on a starship, taking Hunter with him. Hunter had a hard time adjusting to life on a starship, as well as his parents having split up. It was there he met Thomas, who was more like a brother to him than a friend. They became fast friends and would often be seen together on the ship.

It was a year after his father had taken the position that the ship was attacked and boarded. Hunter and Thomas were often found in the engineering department, bothering Thomas' Dad who was the chief engineer.

Thomas' Dad hid the boys within his department, where he knew they would not be found. He made them swear not to come out no matter what happened.

Hunter and Thomas were terrified for themselves and their fathers but they kept their promise and never made a sound, even though they could hear the screams of the crew and sounds of phaser fire. Finally, assistance arrived from the Federation and the boys were rescued. Among the dead on the ship was Thomas' father.

In the aftermath, with Thomas being an only child and having no family, Hunter's father took him in and he was raised beside Hunter.

It was when he graduated that Hunter informed his father that he had no desire to be a doctor but was going to Starfleet to become an engineer. Thomas decided to go as well, to study to be a doctor.

Hunter flew through the academy and graduated at the top of his class. This was what he was meant to do with his life.
