Mission: S1, E0: We need each other.
Location: Mess Hall
Timeline: MD001 1600 hrs
1346 words - 2.7 OF Standard Post Measure

April walked into the mess hall, she had just completed some bridge work detail. She had asked to start early, and she learned first hand that the ship might be ready to go, but there was several small jobs that needed to be completed.

April walked into the mess hall, and walked over to the replicator. She was not looking forward to another replicated meal. She hoped the Lexington found a chef soon. They desperately needed one. She started to head over to the replicator.

“We meet again,” Hunter said, walking up behind her to get something to eat.

"Hey." April said, with a big bright smile on her face. She was happy to see Hunter. They had a pretty good breakfast this morning. She was hoping to meet up with him again.

“How was your day,” Hunter asked her as he grabbed a tray.

"Not bad, but its getting better now." April said, with her corny pickup line. She could not help but giggle. "Wow that was terrible line. Disregard I said that." She asked, with a grin on her face.

“It was cute,” Hunter grinned. “I like knowing that I can brighten your day.” He shook his head. “After all you brighten mine.”

"I think you are being sweet, but that corny. You have to admit that." April said, feeling a little embrassed. But humbled, that he thought it was cute.

“It was in a way,” Hunter admitted. “But the meaning behind it makes it cute to me and I am glad you said it.”

"No point in lying. Sometimes you just have to take a chance, and I am glad I did with that corny joke." April said, as she looked into his eyes.

“Always say what you think with me,” Hunter said with a smile. “I pretty much speak my piece and a lot of time it can be called corny or cheesy.”

"I will keep that in mind." April said, with a big grin on her face. She admired how honest and open he was to her. That was refreshing to see.

“I was in a relationship,” Hunter explained. “She hid so much from me that after the breakup I decided to always be open.”

"There is a difference from being to honest, and being truthful." April pointed out to him. She hoped he understood. His anology did not work in this scenario. She was not being dishonest or deictful. Unless he was trying to say, she was. If that was the case, this was going to go south very fast.

“You are right,” Hunter conceded. “There are times that things can’t be shared or explained totally.”

"Not all ladies, are like your ex. Sorry you had to go through that. But I can tell you, I am not her." April said, with a warm smile on her face.

“You are nothing like her,” Hunter agreed with a smile. “You are beautiful, smart, funny and have excellent taste in men.”

"So your last partner was ugly, un-intelligent, rude and horrible taste in men?" April asked, taking a small stab at his comment. It was not a nice thing to say about an ex. Despite how evil they may be. She had anticipated a basic response, of personality clashes and it not working out.

“I was talking about the selfish side of her not physical,” Hunter said with a sigh. “She was pretty on the outside and smart in her own way...”

"I see." April said, curious to see how this line of conversation was going to play out. She wondered how he handled confrontation.

“I didn’t mean she was all bad,” Hunter sighed. “Just that I never really saw the “real” her until we broke up. With you, I can already tell you like who you are.”

"That's sweet, and I have a good feeling about you too this might be a good start to a relationship between us, but it's still too early to tell." April said comment and questioning why the hell she just said that. She hope she didn't scare him by saying that.

“I hear what you’re saying,” Hunter smiled at her. “It is good to take our time and get to know each other.”

"We can start with dinner tonight, and see how it goes." April suggested to him. She thought he was nice, she wanted to get to know him better.

"That sounds like a good plan," Hunter nodded. "Can I come pick you up or do you want to meet up?" He was going to let her decide this time.

"I am free tomorrow night." April said, with a big grin on her face.

“It’s a date,” Hunter said with a grin. He was looking forward to spending more time with her.

April just smiled, as the scene starts to fade away. "That is tomorrow, but the night is still young." April pointed out to him.

“Shall we take a walk around the ship,” Hunter asked her. “I doubt we could get a pass to leave the ship this late in the day.”

"Probably true, there is a lot of this ship I have yet to explore." April said, with her cute adorable smile.

“I have been so busy with making adjustments to equipment,” Hunter murmured. “I haven’t had time to just wander and just ‘look’ at things. This will be nice.”

"Then we both can take a look together, first times are always better when you have someone to share the experience with." April said, with a big grin on her face.

"I couldn't agree more," Hunter said with a nod. "Sometimes seeing things through someone else's eyes gives you a whole new perspective."

"I never said that, I suggested that someone to share the experience with. Not to witness it from their prespective." April pointed out to him.

“And I agree,” Hunter nodded. “I am glad to be sharing this with you.”

"You realize, you just contradicted yourself, right?" April pointed out to him.

“No,” Hunter replied. “I like sharing this experience with you and I also like it when I see something through someone else’s vision. I didn’t mean to say that would happen tonight.”

April was not sure what to believe. He contridicted himself, then he went back to his orginal point. Which made no sense, since he just contridicted himself. "I'm not sure if that is sweet or alarming?" She said, really confused.

“I’m kind of nervous,” Hunter confessed. “I was just saying there are different ways to experience something. I am glad to be sharing this with you.” He looked at her. “Can we let it go?”

"Let it go?" April said, with a dissapointed look on her face. This was very unattractive. She was happy to see this side of him now, before she started to grow strong feelings for him. He lacked the confidence, she thought he had.

Hunter shook his head. "I think this conversation is getting all messed up." He looked at her. "And I am coming across badly. I want to see the ship with you, in a new light without work pulling me away. It will be like my first time and yet, I want to see it how you do as well. Does that make sense?"

"If we are being honest, I think its adorable. As long as you dont make a pattern of it." April said, with a big grin on her face.

Hunter sighed in relief. "I won't." He smiled back at her. "I think a lot of it was nerves."

"Nerves of what? This?" April asked, deciding to get rid of some of his nerves, by giving him a kiss. She grabbed him close, as her hand went on his cheek. The two of them, got lost in the moment.

Hunter's arms went around her as he returned the kiss, forgetting everything around him, as emotions and passion took over.

The scene starts to fade away, with the two of them kissing. Forgetting the rest of the world.
